A financial aid information night is being held at Hillsborough High, among other schools in the area, to explain the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), review how colleges put together financial aid packages and talk about federal aid. Surveillance video aided in the arrest, police say.
A 17-year-old Temple Terrace girl was arrested on Thursday in connection to a fireworks incident at Hillsborough High, according to the Tampa Police Department. Akeria Bowden, 17, of 8012 Terrace Arbor Court in Temple Terrace was charged with inciting a riot and tampering with evidence after surveillance video caught Bowden setting off the fireworks, police said. A teacher identified the girl in the video, police said, and Bowden admitted to the crime when questioned. The girl was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, police said.
