Craftology is an adults-only event held after-hours on all three floors of the Museum. It will be “the summer kick-off event of the year” and features live music, and craft drinks, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from bars and restaurants across Tampa Bay. The camps can be full-day or half-day and also are divided by themes, from exploring the world’s food and music to water conservation and safety, creating everyday art, and building your own gadgets. Half-days run from 9 a.m. to noon, or from 1-4 p.m. Lunch is available for full-day campers by week or by day. Extended care also is available. TAMPA -- Eighteen-month-old Braden Chapman toddled in his aqua socks in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on Sunday, venturing in seconds from blown bubbles to hula hoops to inflated balls bouncing on the grass. Mom Janelle Chapman of Tampa said he eventually would find the fountains and splash. “This is one of his favorite spots. We love it,” she said. Chapman brought Braden in his skull-and-crossbones swim trunks to the first birthday celebration for the Glazer Children’s Museum -- which as a gift to the public handed out free birthday cake and $5 admission. Grown-ups, it's time to get your game on at the Glazer Children's Museum. The adults-only Board Games, Bubble and Brew will be held Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m., and it promises something for the kid in everyone. Plus booze. Normally you have to have a child with you to enter the museum for safety reasons, development manager Kerry Falwell said.
