What Do You Recommend at Yummy House?

Tell us your favorite menu items at this Hong Kong style BBQ place.

"What Do You Recommend?" is an occasional feature that asks Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite menu items at local restaurants and bars. Once again, we feature a restaurant outside the Seminole Heights boundaries, but with a location to the north (Waters Avenue) and to the east (Hillsborough Avenue) of Tampa's oldest neighborhood, Yummy House is certainly a destination for local residents. Known for their lunchtime dim sum and carefully prepared entrees, Yummy House has built up a reputation for itself since opening. It's the type of place where just about everything seems gourmet and family style dining with a lazy susan in the middle of your table is a perfect fit. Let Patch save you time. I would recommend trying the patties!! I tried these last week and they make them fresh daily. Flakey, yummy goodness filled with beef or chicken. Soooo good! They recently expanded to include southern-style and Caribbean food options besides their other menu items. I like the rotisserie chicken with sides of potato salad and brown rice. Next time, I plan to try the Mac-N-Cheese. They have plenty…   more ›

What Do You Recommend at Bo's Ice Cream?

Tell us your favorite sweet treat at Bo's Ice Cream.

"What Do You Recommend?" is an occasional feature that asks Patch readers to weigh in on their favorite menu items at local restaurants and bars. Bo's Ice Cream has been a landmark institution for the Seminole Heights area, dishing out frozen treats since 1954. The business has been up for sale at different times, but Bosanko hasn't received a suitable offer just yet. Whether it's Bo's biggest hit, the banana split, just a plain old vanilla soft serve cone or their homemade hot fudge brownie Sunday, it's pretty easy to see why Bo's has kept their doors open for nearly 60 years and why Patch …
