Bargain hunters and animal lovers united. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the volunteers at Hillsborough County Animal Services will host their “No-Fleas Market and Sale” from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, outside the shelter at 440 N. Falkenburg Rd. Shop fabulous finds for both pets and their people, even Mom. The event will feature clothing, jewelry, arts, and even gardening tools. Volunteers will hold a cookout/barbecue, too. The proceeds will benefit medically needy shelter pets. Donations of pet food and clean towels and bedding are always appreciated. Hundreds of lovable hearts await. Looking to pick up a used bike or cheap bike parts and gear? Check out the first-ever Seminole Heights Bicycle Swap meet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22. Organizer Alan Snel will hold the "fun, flea market-style gathering" in the parking lot of Sherry's Yesterdaze Vintage Clothing & Antiques, 5207 N. Florida Ave. Vendors will be on hand selling used bikes, bike gear, parts, equipment and clothing "at affordable prices," Snel said. Spaces are available for vendors for $10.
