News report: The Bornean orangutan family at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo had an “egg”citing morning Friday with the zoo’s annual Orangutan Egg Hunt, before the rains came. The five playful primates enjoyed hard-boiled eggs, baskets and edible goodies throughout the exhibit. In addition to enjoying the treats, the orangutans benefit from the challenge that offers the animals incentives to explore and interact with their habitat. One of many enrichment activities, this rewarding task helps stimulate the highly intelligent animals, both mentally and physically.
