Since taking over Taconazo in 2007 and creating the Taco Bus, chef Rene Valenzuela has already become a local legend. The primitive indoor and outdoor seating and the fact that food is ordered from an actual bus, parked in the courtyard, are all part of the charm for the locals who flock to this cherished landmark.  Valenzuela, originally from Sonora, Mexico, promises authentic Mexican food. "This is not Tex-Mex," he says. "This is Mex-Mex." And taco cravings can now be satisfied any time, as the restaurant is open 24 hours a day. Chorizo and eggs for breakfast?  Tamales for a 3am snack? The Taco Bus has it. Vegetarian diners will be glad to know that, besides the vegetarian specialities, tofu can be substituted for meat in any dish. Valenzuela also hosts Mexican cooking classes and he has opened new locations in New Tampa, Plant City and St. Pete but Seminole Heights claims the original Taco Bus.
