The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice maintains a Central Region Juvenile Probation Office in Tampa to serve Judicial Circuit 13. The building was dedicated in 1971. Seven juvenile probation officers at the facility provide intake services and supervision to youth referred to the agency by law enforcement. These officers interview youth and families to make an assessment and develop a plan to address the offense. The officers then contact the State Attorney's office to present information and tailor the plan to ensure the youth is held accountable to the victim, and a rehabilitative plan is devised to address the prevention of an additional offense.
