If you’re already in the holiday spirit, Easter Seals Florida in the Tampa Bay area needs help at a fund-raiser later this week and throughout December.

This nonprofit organization serves Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk counties, providing early intervention and therapeutic services for children with disabilities and special needs. Its programs include child-development centers, pediatric therapy, speech and communication therapy, and inclusive child-care.

From Nov. 11 to 13, Easter Seals Florida needs helpers who are at least 18 years old to sign up people for and work at the Magical Night of Giving fund-raiser at WestShore Plaza. For the Nov. 13 event, volunteers will handle ticket sales and collections at the mall entrances; as a perk, they will receive a meal as well as an hour to shop the one-night-only sales.

Volunteers also are needed to work a special night at Mise En Place from 5:30pm to 10pm, as well as the Applebee’s Toy Drive from Dec. 7 to 16. For the toy drive, volunteers will help sort, move, and distribute toys to Easter Seals clients.

In addition, the organization needs helpers with some specialized skills:

* A graphic-design volunteer to help create marketing materials including flyers, brochures, posters, and other print and electronic materials for fund-raising events and campaigns;

* A public-relations coordinator to write and send press releases, assist with the speakers’ bureau, keep the media list updated, and track and organize press clippings;

* A volunteer coordinator to help recruit, orient, train and track volunteers, as well as match interested volunteers with opportunities. Other responsibilities would include maintaining a database of contact information, publicizing new opportunities, and creating and implementing a training program and appreciation activities.
