Since 1982, Bay Area Youth Services has provided youth and family services throughout West Central Florida with the objective of increasing the potential of young people and improving their quality of life. This nonprofit corporation has been responsible for an array of delinquency-prevention, diversion, and intervention services over the years. These services include providing counseling and parenting seminars, monitoring community-service work, and collecting restitution money for crime victims.

Youth are referred to Bay Area Youth Services through the Department of Juvenile Justice; all programs are free to participants. More than 65,000 children and their families have participated in this agency’s services since its inception, according to its Web site. The agency has eight offices throughout the Tampa Bay area.

The agency currently needs volunteers to help case managers, social workers, and counselors. It also needs tutors, office assistants, and field-trip supervisors.
