Patch Canned Food Drive Nets Two Tons of Food
We were astounded at the generosity of people in Seminole Heights, Central Tampa and all around the bay area. Together, we collected more than two tons of food for Feeding America Tampa Bay and families in need!

You helped pack the big green Patch RV with more than two tons of canned food donations that will help feed hungry families in Tampa Bay!
You may have seen the Patch RV rolling through town in May. We were wrapping up our month-long Patch Give-A-Ton canned food drive with a whirlwind tour through Seminole Heights and the rest of our 19 Patch towns around the bay area. And instead of giving just a ton, we ended up giving two tons to Feeding America Tampa Bay, to be distributed to local families in need.

Throughout the month, local businesses , , , , and helped collect canned goods.
Our Patch crew also hopped in the Patch RV and held events all around Tampa Bay to coincide with the canned food drive. Here in Seminole Heights, we gave away free Patch T-Shirts to anyone who donated or signed up for the Patch newsletter. We had a blast meeting everyone, and we helped collect thousands of pounds of food!
