Seminole Heights Residents Go Easy on Storm Preparations

Despite a rash of recent storms tearing down tree limbs, knocking out electricity and pushing the boundaries of the Hillsborough River into neighborhoods, Seminole Heights residents appear relaxed when it comes to preparing for Tropical Storm Isaac.

It was just two months ago that Tropical Storm Debby flooded the banks of the Hillsborough River, but another storm doesn't appear to be scaring local residents. Driving through the Seminole Heights area this morning, businesses and homes alike do not boast boarded up windows or sandbags.

Local grocery stores haven't exactly been pressed when it comes to keeping their shelves stocked. Both Publix and Sweetbay on Nebraska Avenue have been able to maintain a stockpile of water and canned goods. Publix ran out of gallon jugs of water last night, but bottled water was still readily available and shelves of gallon water jugs were restocked by this morning.
