Hillsborough Terriers Repeat as Steinbrenner Champs!

The Terriers boys track team won for the second consecutive year. The girls team came in fourth out of 79 Florida high schools.

The George Steinbrenner Invitational is the brainchild of Steinbrenner High School Track Coach Ladd Baldwin, University of South Florida Track Coach Warren Bye, and FHSAA Coordinator of Officials Nate Johnson. The meet was held Saturday at USF.

In its first year 2010, the invitational drew forty schools to the USF campus. Thanks to the hard work of the three aforementioned individuals and many others, it has become the largest meet in the state. This year, the invitational hosted 35 certified officials, with over 2,000 student-athletes from 79 different schools.
