Hillsborough Seniors Attempting to Lead

Two senior athletes at Hillsborough High School are attempting to lead their teams through difficult schedules.

Female Athlete of the Week: Lauren Dunayer

Hillsborough High School's senior third baseman had an impressive .500 batting average coming into the Terriers game against East Bay on Saturday. She has also assumed a leadership role in her final year.

"She's versatile," coach Kristina Ravenel said. "She's our first or third baseman, not to mention our infield captain. I've had her for four years and she's grown. This year she's definitely stepped it up and shown she can lead."

Batting .308 for the season, senior catcher Woodard has been a solid contributor to a Terrier team struggling to score runs. He has crossed the plate six times and batted in three.

His speed has helped the Terriers pose a threat to opposing teams on the base pads with the player having three stolen bases this season. He has gotten on base in over half of his trips to the plate.
