"Transit of Venus" Viewing (*Registration Required)

MOSI pays tribute to the planet Venus tonight as it travels in front of the sun -- a celestial event that won't be repeated until 2117.

For safety, guests will be able to stargaze through telescopes with special filters, sun spotters and solar shades from the top of the IMAX® DOME Theatre. (Experts say you should not look directly at the sun!) The museum says guests can also see Venus in all her glory in the dark sky within the Saunders Planetarium, as MOSI experts discuss the beauty and chaotic environment of the hottest planet in the solar system.
