Tampa Catholic Girls Roll into Class 3A-District 10 Basketball Final

Defending state champs win 20th consecutive game in 62-30 romp against Berkeley Prep.

Top-seeded Tampa Catholic used three players in double figures to coast past Berkeley Prep, 62-30, in their Class 3A-District 10 girls’ semifinal at hosting Berkeley Thursday.

The Crusaders (21-4), the defending Class 3A state champions, won for the 20th consecutive time. They were led by senior Meghan Keough with 17 points, junior Kai Jones with 13, junior Micah Kroll with 10 and sophomore Britney Betts with 8.

The victory propelled the Crusaders into the district final against St. Petersburg Catholic Saturday night at 7 p.m. The heated rivals split two games during the regular season. Both teams automatically advance to the regional quarterfinals next week by virtue of earning spots in the district final.
