Player of the Week: Jeremiah Green

Hillsborough High's Jeremiah Green buried Strawberry Crest with three touchdowns and 181 total yards last week, this week he has Leto in his sights.

Jeremiah Green does need many opportunities to make opponents pay.

With just four touches of the football, 's Green put 18 points on the board for the Terriers aiding them to a 43-0 destruction of Strawberry Crest last Friday. Green, who last year played only defense, scored two touchdowns on the ground and one threw the air proving he can be just as dangerous as primary tailback Anthony Brown.

"Brown and Green is the one two punch," Green said. "I'm just trying to play my best and do what I can do for the team. We're going to carry this team as far as we can. We make the playoffs and you never know, maybe it's meant to be that we make a state title run."

The receiving touchdown came via a screen pass in which Green went 31-yards for the score. It's a play the Terriers can deploy with great effectiveness thanks to the speed of Green and is one of his favorites.

"The screen is a great play for me cause it gets you out in the open field and you can just turn the speed on," Green said. "I like that play cause you can just try to get every bit you can get out of it. When you got player like me and Brown, you have to run them."

The Terriers have now started 3-1 and look likely to be headed back to the state playoffs. Green says he can see a huge improvement in the team and with Leto ahead on Friday, he believes that maintaining what the team has been doing is the key to further success.

"We just have to stay focused and do the little things and we're going to keep winning," Green said.
