New Paint For Cleanse On Florida Ave. What Do You Think?

The owners hope the new color will represent their store best and attract some new eyes to this specialty shop in Seminole Heights.

A few weeks ago, the owners of Cleanse Apothecary on Florida Avenue decided it was time to go green, literally.

Owner Greg Curtis and his partner, Terry Bellamy started to paint the exterior of the shop on March 25th and finished on the 28th.

"When we first opened, the building was just freshly painted beige. At that time it wasn't the color that we envisioned for our type of business, but it worked," Curtis said. "Flash forward two-and-a-half years, the paint was peeling off everywhere."

The timing of the new exterior was timed to correspond with the 15th Annual Seminole Heights Historic Home Tour. Hundreds of customers came by Cleanse during the tour, many of them first time visitors, Curtis said.

"I think as business owners, we spend most of out time inside our shops and restaurants. We have to remember that your customers deserve an overall welcoming experience, and it starts as they enter," he said in an email to Patch.

Why go with this shade of green?

"Terry and I always knew that the outside of the building should be a reflection of the inside color scheme. Cleanse is a breath of fresh air, all borrowed from nature," Curtis said.

As for any other new changes coming to the apothacary, Curtis hinted at even more surprises coming soon.

"If you look at the front of our store, it looks like there is another business store front next to us. In the late summer or early fall, Cleanse will debut a boutique inside of a boutique," he revealed.

What does that mean, exactly? Curtis is only hinting for now.

"Cleanse Apothecary is a journey for senses so it will be a perfect pairing."

So, Seminole Heights, let Greg and Terry know what you think of the new color in the comments below.
