Tampa Firefighters Reject Proposed Contract

If a deal can't be made between the union and city administrators, a mediation could result.

Tampa firefighters have rejected a two-year contract with the city that carried no cost-of-livng raises through the end of 2013, according to an article posted onTBO.com by reporter Christian Wade.

The vote came out as 149 in favor and 192 against, the article said. If the mayor's office and the union can't work out a deal, an impasse would push the matter into a mediation.
