Southeast Seminole Heights Civic Association Paints Its Heart Out

Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa is a city wide program in which volunteers team up to paint the homes of low-income or elderly community residents.

Members of the Southeast Seminole Heights Civic Association teamed up Saturday, April 21, 2012 to participate in Paint Your Heart Out, Tampa, an annual city-wide volunteer effort to paint the homes of low-income or elderly residents.

The program is in its 24th year, and SESHCA has participated every year, says team captain, Frank Roder. In that time, he says they've painted 28 houses, occasionally painting two homes in one year.

The SESHCA group is one of at least two teams that painted homes in the Seminole Heights area this year.

Over the past two and a half decades the project has only been rained out once, Roder says. This year, the weather held off just long enough for the SESHCA team to add one more resident to their list of neighbors helped.
