Report: Tampa Drivers 'Consistently Poor,' Among Worst In U.S.

Well, there might be some truth to the way you feel. Slate.com dug into a whole bunch of data related to driving from cities around the country.

How many times do you find yourself behind the wheel in Tampa and think to yourself how horrible everyone on the road is at actually operating a motor vehicle? Of course, you're a great driver, right? Everyone else is awful.

Well, there might be some truth to the way you feel. Slate.com dug into a whole bunch of data related to driving from cities around the country. While Tampa didn't come in dead last, we were fourth from the bottom.

Here's what Slate.com said about Tampa:

"Tampa doesn’t do any single thing terribly, but it is consistently poor: 18th worst in years between accidents, fifth in traffic fatalities, tied for 11th in DWI fatalities, and 10th in pedestrian strikes. If the city had managed to get outside the bottom half in any individual category, Tampa residents might have avoided this distinction."

Ouch.

Well, at least we aren't Miami or Philadelphia. Miami ranked at the bottom, while Philly drivers were rated second worst.

What do you think of the rankings and what they said about Tampa? Is there an area you hate to drive in most? Let us know in the comments below.
