Victim Forced to Remove Pants During Attempted Robbery

The incident occurred early this morning.

A man was forced to remove his pants during an attempted robbery this morning near Wilder Avenue East and 21st Street North, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Around 2:11 a.m., an unidentified group of people were walking southbound on 21st Street North when a vehicle pulled up, police said. A man jumped out of the passenger side of the vehicle and pointed an "Uzi" at one of the people in the group, police said.

The man ran southbound toward his house, police said. Then, the driver of the vehicle jumped out with a shotgun and demanded money from the other victim, police said.

The man said he didn't have any money, so the man with the shotgun asked for his pants, police said. The man took off his pants, but there was no money or cell phones in the pockets, so the two suspects fled north and then east from the scene, police said.

The man whose pants were removed caught three digits from the tag of the vehicle, a four-door gold 2000 Chevy Malibu, police said.
