Thief Steals $8,000 Worth of Items, Police Say

Friday, May 4

  • A burglary was reported in the 5900 block of North Eustace Avenue. The culprit entered the residence through a rear window carrying a black book-bag and stole approximately $8,000 worth of items, including a flat screen television, a laptop computer, a desktop computer, and assorted jewelry. The suspect is believed to be a white male with long curly hair. He might have approached from the alley behind the house.
  • Someone kicked the front door in of the residence at 1706 E. Osborne Ave. and took a Trek bike, a wallet and a laptop computer.

Saturday, May 5

  • A burglary was reported at , 815 E. Hillsborough Ave. The culprit climbed the fence of the business, entered it through an unlocked door, and stole $700 from a cigar box and a vehicle radar system.

  • A burglary was reported in the 800 block of West Kirby Street. Reported taken were a dishwasher and black dresser. Witnesses saw a white male and a white female in a 2-door blue Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon in the driveway of the burglarized house.

Monday, May 7

  • Someone tried to break into the residence at 1607 E. Louisiana Ave. by smashing the rear patio glass door, but fled after the alarm was activated.

  • A burglary was reported at 1010 E. Osborne Ave. The culprit entered the residence through an unsecured window and stole various items.
  • Between April 18 and May 8, someone entered the residence at 4212 N. Marguerite St. through an unlocked window and took an undisclosed amount of property.
