'Voodoo' Doll Repels Burglar, Tampa Police Say
A prowler was deterred from further wrongdoing after breaking into a laundry room and finding voodoo paraphernalia, police say.
March 22
- Several unlocked vehicles on the 2000 block of West Jean Street were unlawfully entered and relieved of some contents, according to police. Investigators describe the suspect as a black male, 15 to 21 years old, thin build, long neck-length dreadlocks, last seen wearing a white T-shirt. Investigators say video surveillance has been obtained.

- The rear screen of a house's laundry room on the 2000 block of East Humphrey Street was pried off and the window opened. From there, police say, the suspect or suspects observed a room filled with "voodoo paraphernalia" and fled the scene. A "fertility doll" which had been on the windowsill was found on the ground below the breached window.

- Someone pried open the side door to a residence on the 2300 block of West Clinton Street. Stolen were a 42-inch Samsung plasma TV, a silver woman's ring with a skull, a silver woman's ring with a diamond, and a silver woman's ring with two or three turquoise stones. Estimated value of stolen items is $500, according to investigators.
