Tampa Police: Robberies, Burglaries and Employee Car Theft Under Investigation

A man is arrested for stealing his ex-girlfriend's necklace right off her. An employee of a car lot is recorded on video lifting keys to a Cadillac.

Recent incident reports from Tampa Police Districts 2 and 3:

Nov. 3

  • A man was arrested at 2115 E. Hillsborough Ave. on charges of robbery and resisting arrest.  The defendant reportedly demanded money from his ex-girlfriend, and she only gave him $5. He wanted more so he pushed her and grabbed a gold chain and pendant from her neck. He ran away and later came back to the scene. He ran again when officers tried to arrest him. He was caught and charged.
  • A residential burglary was reported at the 700 block of East Emily Street. The culprit entered through a rear window and removed three TVs, a video game console, a laptop computer and four men's watches. The total value was $8,850.
  • A green Cadillac Escalade was reported stolen from Bay Auto Wholesale, 6823 N. Florida Ave. The suspect was seen on video footage entering the office at 1 a.m. and taking the keys to the car. He drove away in the car. The suspect was identified as an employee of the dealership, Troy J. Debose, 40, and officers issued a pick-up warrant for him.

  • An armed robbery was reported at Cyrus Green Park, 2007 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. The victims said they were robbed at gunpoint by approximately 10-15 juveniles between 12 and 14 years old. The total property loss came to $358. Items taken included an iPod.
  • Tools were reported stolen from One Stop Auto Repair, 3602 N. Florida Ave. The culprit cut or broke through the fence in front of the shop. The tools were removed from a Ford F-150 pickup.
  • Two residential burglaries were ported at the 8000 block of North 13th Street. The culprit entered the homes through a kitchen window and a bedroom window. A piece of concrete block was used to break the window at one home, while the window at the other was tampered with. One home was ransacked but nothing was taken. A flat screen TV and a Sony PlayStation were removed from the other home.
  • An auto burglary was reported at the 1700 block of East Mulberry Street. The culprit entered a white Dodge Charger by punching the driver's side lock. Taken were a red Gucci purse, a Social Security card, a birth certificate and a makeup kit.

Nov. 6

  • An auto burglary was reported at North 15th Street and East Palm Avenue. The culprit broke the passenger side window and removed two women's purses, an iPod and $950 in cash.
