Tampa Police Investigating Multiple Burglaries

A gun, music equipment, several TVs and a safe full of money are missing.

Recent reports from Tampa Police District 2:

May 27

  • Tampa Police are investigating a report of an attempted residential burglary in the 1400 block of East Seward Ave. Someone broke through a rear bathroom window. Nothing was taken.

  • A .38 caliber semi-automatic handgun was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Lowry Park boat ramp. Sometime between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., someone broke out the passenger side window, took the gun, a leather holster and a clip with six rounds of ammunition.

May 30

  • Someone cut the locks from six units at Mini Max Storage at 8891 N. Florida Ave. It is unknown if anything was taken. New locks were put in place.
  • Officers received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 1500 block of East Henry. Sometime between midnight and 8 a.m., someone took a gold, 1999 Nissan Sentra sedan.

  • Police arrested a neighbor in connection with a residential burglary after police were tipped off by the suspect's roommate about the crime. The burglary occurred at the 8200 block of North 12th Street. Police said the suspect cut her arm on glass inside the house and stole two televisions.
  • Aardvark Music and Rental at 7527 N. Armenia Ave. was found to have been burglarized over the weekend. The lock on the front door had been removed, the alarm system disabled, phone lines cut and power shut off. More than $100,000 in musical equipment was taken.
  • Detectives are investigating a residential burglary at vacant house in the 1700 block of East Knollwood Street. Between May 23 and 31, someone entered the home by removing a front window screen and took an air handler from the attic. The home's complete air conditioning unit was taken from the outside.
  • Three flat screen televisions and a small safe containing approximately $3,500 in cash were stolen from a home on the 3700 block of East Lambright Street. Between 1:15 and 3 p.m., someone smashed out a side bedroom window and left through the front door, leaving it partially open.
