Shooting Turns into Homicide Investigation

Tampa Police are searching for a suspect in a Friday night homicide.

After initially responding to a "shots fired" report about 9:25 p.m. Friday, Tampa Police officers found themselves investigating a homicide and looking for a suspect, according to a news release by Lt. William Ferguson.

Officers responded to 3402 N. Clay St., entered the residence and located a 33-year-old man who had been the victim of a homicide, Ferguson said. Witnesses told police that the suspect in the shooting is a dark- skinned black male, standing 5-feet-9-inches tall and appearing 175 pounds with a thin build.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
