Authorities are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman and stole items from a home on Comanche Avenue in Seminole Heights, according to a report from the Tampa Police Department.
Here's what happened between late Tuesday to early Wednesday morning at the home just north of Hillsborough Avenue, according to the report:
A man entered the home late Tuesday through an unlocked back door. He confronted the victims, who were in bed, and asked for money. When they were unable to comply, the man asked the female victim to remove her clothes. Then, the man "committed sexual battery on the female."
Then, the man took cell phones, a wallet and a purse.
The victim called police on Thursday evening, prompting an investigation.
