Police: Felon with Gun Dealt Drugs on Nebraska Avenue

Tampa Police say the man was dealing drugs from hotel rooms on Nebraska Avenue, north of Sligh Avenue.

A convicted felon who was armed at least one gun was arrested near the Seminole Heights area north of Sligh Avenue, according to the Tampa Police Department.

While Quenten Palmer, 25, was living at the Haven Motel on Nebraska Avenue, Tampa Police were working with sources to determine if Palmer was dealing drugs from his hotel room. Working with a confidential informant, police say they determined he was indeed selling drugs and that he was armed with a gun.

Palmer was later evicted from the Haven Inn Motel and moved north to the Orange Motel on Nebraska Avenue.

Tampa Police performed a second controlled purchase of narcotics from Palmer at the Orange Motel. Yesterday afternoon, they arrested Palmer and searched his room.

During the search they claim to have found:

  • 11 pieces of rock cocaine
  • 1.5 grams of marijuana and
  • a KelTec .40 caliber handgun, loaded with 4 live rounds

Palmer was arrested and charged with:

  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Felon in Possession of Ammunition
  • Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver within 1000' of a Church,
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
