Operation Medicine Cabinet Aimed at Keeping Pills Off the Streets

On Saturday, citizens will have a safe, anonymous way to dispose of expired medications.

As part of Operation Medicine Cabinet, Tampa Police will collect unused or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications from citizens to prevent drug abuse and accidental overdoses.

When:  11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday
Where:  , 805 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Citizens can drop off medication they no longer use, and it can be done anonymously.

Home Instead Senior Care partnered with police to provide collection boxes that officers will use to safely get rid of the unused and expired medications.
