One Homeless Man Attacks Another Over Beer Money

Here is a look back at some of the activity from the Tampa Police Department's crime blotter for the Seminole Heights area.

Friday August 10

  • Two white males driving a red 1990s hard top vehicle are suspected to be the perpetrators of a burglary in the 800 block of East Giddens Avenue. A neighbor spotted the vehicled parked in front of the house between midnight and 1 a.m. and reported seeing them enter the backyard. A rear window was the point of entry. The value of property stolen was not specified.

Tuesday August 14

  • A white male named Joseph Hammond was arrested after punching a fellow homeless man over $2 in beer money behind a bus stop in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Hammond was walking with the victim to the store to buy the beer when he attacked the man, punching him twice in the mouth. A passerby called the police who were able to track Hammond down nearby and identify him by the cuts on his hand from the victims mouth. He was transported to booking.
