Multiple Burglaries Reported

Someone attempted to enter the Police Athletic League office.

Recent reports from Tampa Police District 2:

Oct. 6

  • A burglary was reported at the 7000 block of North Willow Avenue. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness and placed a BOLO on the suspects' description, direction of travel, and possible names. The culprits’ home address was provided to the officers. Once the residence was surrounded, Cpl. Milillo entered the fenced backyard, searched it and located both offenders hiding in a shed. Brandon Baker, 27, living at 1609 W. Hamilton Ave., and Shanna Sizemore, 23, living at 1308 W. Hamilton Ave., were arrested without incident. Stolen prescribed medications were found in the shed the culprits were hiding in. Both defendants were charged with burglary and grand theft. Baker was on probation for a previous burglary and Sizemore had an active warrant for her arrest for violation of probation and possession of marijuana. Both defendants are now also persons of interest in similar burglaries in the surrounding areas, which are under investigation.
  • A 2008 Taizhou scooter was reported stolen from the 100 block of West Sligh Avenue. The culprit fled undetected. A cigarette butt, possibly left behind by the suspect, was collected at the scene. It was turned over to forensics for possible DNA match.

Oct.7

  • Between October 7 and 9, someone entered the fenced yard of a residence at the 8400 block of North 17th Street. Reported stolen were a York one-ton AC compressor valued at about $500. The culprit cut the copper tubing of the unit to the house and fled undetected. There are no leads.
  • Someone attempted to enter the Police Athletic League office at 1924 W. Diane St. The culprit smashed the rear window, but fled after the alarm was triggered. Another window had a chair left under it and it appeared the culprit tried to lift that window. Fingerprints were recovered and a DNA swab was taken from a glass pipe left behind at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and extra patrol of the area was requested by local residents.
  • A burglary was reported at the 7600 block of North Huntley Avenue. The culprit smashed the rear window of the victim’s residence. Reported taken were a microwave, pillow cases and Section 8 papers.

  • At 4.30 a.m., a man walking eastbound on the 2600 block of West Water Avenue approaching North Armenia Avenue was tackled to the ground by two other men. The suspects punched the victim and took his Tiger-Eye Link 26”-28” gold necklace. The two thieves ran to an awaiting vehicle that had two additional men inside. The culprits’ vehicle fled southbound on North Armenia Avenue. The suspects have been described as follows: one Hispanic male in his 20s, 6-feet tall, 180 pounds, bald, last seen wearing jeans and a dark shirt. The other suspects are only described as Hispanic males with dark skin. The culprits’ vehicle is a dark blue or black mid-2000 Chevrolet Malibu.
  • Charles Riddle, 44, living at 2116 Seaman Road, unlawfully entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence at the 1900 block of Fiesta Ridge Circle. The culprit was armed with a knife and damaged the victim’s phone depriving her from calling 911 and held her against her will for several hours. Riddle forced the victim into his vehicle where he held her again against her will until taking her back home. Once there, the victim locked him out of the house but Riddle, still holding a knife, kicked in her door. The culprit was located with the assistance of the Rapid Offender Control squad.
  • A burglary was reported at the 7800 block of North Boulevard. The culprit pried ope the rear bathroom window to gain entry and took approximately $1,400 in cash from a dresser.

Oct. 10

  • TPD responded to a burglary alarm around 1.40 a.m. at Quick Pick Food Store located at 6815 N. Armenia Ave. Upon arrival, officers noticed that the exterior alarm speaker had been forcefully remove and that there was a hole in the ceiling on the exterior front side of the business, from where the culprit had gained access to the store.  The suspect, who was still on the scene, was seen walking away from the rear of the business. Officers stopped and detained Randy Gene Clark, 34, living at 911 W. Knollwood St., while waiting for the business owner to respond. After the culprit was positively identify via the security system, Clark was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools, which were found on the roof near the point of entry and theft.
