Multiple Auto, Home Burglaries Reported

Tampa Police are also looking for a gunman in a foiled robbery.

Recent reports from Tampa Police District 2:

Sept. 7

  • An automobile burglary was reported at the 1300 block of East Crawford Street. Reported stolen were a Garmin GPS, a JVC digital camcorder and a Coby-Zon DVD player. The vehicle was unlocked.

  • An automobile burglary was reported at the 1000 block of East Broad Street. Reported stolen were keys and two rosaries. The vehicle was unlocked.

Sept. 9

  • A burglary was reported at the 100 block of West Sligh Avenue. The culprit pried open a sheet of wood covering a rear window. Reported stolen was $150 in loose change from the victim's bedroom. The residence was burglarized in a similar fashion in November 2010.

  • An automobile burglary was reported at the Petro Mart parking lot at 400 E. Sligh Ave. The 2008 Saturn SUV was unlocked. While she was inside the store, the culprit took a HP laptop computer, an iPhone, her purse and a Kindle e-reader. The suspect was recorded on surveillance video.

Sept. 11

  • A burglary was reported at the 8200 block of North 14th Street. The suspect was seen by a neighbor stealing an air conditioner from the side window of the home next door. The neighbor came outside and confronted the suspect, who ran leaving the window unit and two other units found in the front yard.

Sept. 12

  • An armed robbery was reported at the 8300 block of North Marks Street at 5 a.m. The culprit pointed a gun at the victim as he was coming out of his front door and ordered the victim to get down. The victim refused and a struggle ensued with shots fired. the suspect ran onto North Marks Street. The victim was not injured and nothing was taken. The victim could not identify the suspect.
  • A burglary was reported at the Haven Motel at 7007 N. Nebraska Ave. The door was forced open and $250 in cash was reported stolen.
