Noel: I like helping the kids, the interactions with the students and faculty. … I started out at a middle school. High school is a different animal.
Patch: How did you become interested in policing?
Find out what's happening in Seminole Heightswith free, real-time updates from Patch.
Noel: I’ve always been interested in it, watching “Magnum, P.I.” and “T.J. Hooker” growing up. The excitement. You watch Ponch and Jon on “CHiPs” chasing somebody on motorcycles. You don’t realize it’s not always like that.
Patch: What’s your most memorable call?
Noel: When I worked at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, dispatch sent me to a call where a woman’s complaint was her neighbor’s ants were coming into her yard. I had to explain to her that her neighbor had no control over the ants.
Patch: Do you have a hero or mentor?
Noel: My dad. He’s overcome adversity in his life. He’s in his 70s.
Patch: What’s your favorite color?
Noel: Gold and garnet -- Florida State. I just love the Seminoles.
Patch: What’s the last movie you saw?
Noel: “Love & Basketball.” We have the DVD, but it was on TV last night. My wife quotes from it.
