Patch: What do you like most about your job?

White: The variety. Pretty much every call, we go to something different. … And there’s the opportunity to help people who really need it and aren’t getting it anywhere else.

Patch: How did you become interested in policing?

White: I always was interested in it, from way back watching Matt Dillon [the marshall in “Gunsmoke”] on TV. The good guy always won. That’s the way it should be.

Patch: What’s your most memorable call?

White: A murder case. Nothing you’d be able to discuss in polite company.

Patch: Do you have a hero or mentor?

White: If I have an important decision, I run it by my dad. I used to think I was smarter than him. The older I get, the smarter he gets.

Patch: What’s your favorite color?

White: Camouflage. I like to hunt, fish, camp -- anything outside.

Patch: What’s the last movie you saw?

White: I re-watched "Shooter" last night. I liked it.
