Patch: What do you like most about your job?
Fultz: It’s not a monotonous job. Every call is different. That’s a job you enjoy doing.

Patch: How did you become interested in firefighting?
Fultz: I liked to hunt and fish a lot. A friend of mine said, “You need to come on the fire department” because of the schedule. [Firefighters work one 24-hour shift, followed by two days off.] … I couldn’t imagine a 40-hour-a-week job. I can’t think of doing anything else.
Patch: What’s your most memorable call?
Fultz: I rescued a parachutist off a light pole. He was about 90 feet off the ground at MacDill Air Force Base. It was embarrassing for him. Our ladder just barely got to him.
Patch: Do you have a hero or mentor?
Fultz: My father-in-law. He’s a person of his word. Straightforward.
Patch: What’s your favorite color?
Fultz: Camo. … Can camo be a color?
Patch: What’s the last movie you saw?
Fultz: “Underworld.” Awesome movie.
