Patch: How did you become interested in firefighting?
Winter: My father and uncle were firefighters with the city. I’ve been around it my whole life. I’ve always looked up to the fine men and women of this department.
Patch: What’s your most memorable call?
Winter: My first fire. It was a house fire on Sitka, fully involved when I got there with fire coming out the window.
Patch: Do you have a hero or mentor?
Winter: My grandfather. He built racecars in Massachusetts. He came from nothing and made something of himself.
Patch: What’s your favorite color?
Winter: Wimbeldon White. It’s a Ford color. I’d like to have it on a Mustang someday.
Patch: What’s the last movie you saw?
Winter: “American Werewolf in London.” A classic. One of my favorites.
