Hometown: Tampa

Patch: What do you like most about your job?

Thompson: The spontaneity of knowing something different is going to happen every day and knowing I’m going to help someone different every day. There are some people that are very appreciative of my job, and that’s what makes my job great.

Patch: How did you become interested in firefighting?

Thompson: An ex-boyfriend [laughs]. I’m not an office person and someone suggested that I join the fire academy.

Patch: What was your most memorable call?

Thompson: The most memorable ones that I have are usually sad. I had a little boy that got run over and killed by his own dad. The ones with children are the most memorable.

Patch: What’s your favorite color?

Thompson: I don’t really have one. I love the bright colors of spring like the purples and blues and the rich colors of fall. I like seasonal colors

Patch: What was the last movie you saw?

Thompson: "Fireproof," my husband and I watched it together.
