Man Shot in Head

Tampa Police are investigating a shooting at N. Florida and E. Lake avenues.

Tampa Police have released scant details about a fatal shooting that took place Sunday night inside a vehicle that was northbound on Florida Avenue.

The victim was in the driver's seat and was shot in the head, Lt. David Goodman said. He died at the scene, which is near East Lake Avenue. Earlier reports by police indicated he had been taken to an area hospital, but that was later corrected.

The trajectory of the wound suggests the gun was inside the vehicle at the time it was fired, but investigators aren't sure if that means the shooter was a passenger or someone who leaned inside, Lt. David Goodman said.
