Update: Victim Identified in Fatal E. Broad St. Shooting
The victim has been identified as Colen Charles Thomas, 49, but Tampa Police Department detectives do not yet have a motive.

The victim has been identified by police as Colen Charles Thomas, 49, of 702 E. Broad St., according to a media release.

Tampa detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Saturday night in the 700 block of East Broad Street.
The victim, whose identity has not been released, was shot inside his residence around 10:44 p.m. Friday and was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the Tampa Police Department reports.

"The reason for the shooting is unknown at this time," Lieutenant S. J. Lee wrote in a media release. The investigation is ongoing.
