Family Dollar Store Shooting Victim Dies

Details are still emerging in the shooting that took place Sunday, July 14.

One person is dead following a shooting at Family Dollar, 4900 N. 40th St.

Few details were available at 10 a.m. Sunday, but Tampa Police Lt. Ronald W. McMullen said the victim in the case has died. It is unclear at this time if the victim is a male or female or what sparked the incident.

Initial reports from McMullen indicated the victim was still alive and was being transported to a hospital. At 9:56 a.m., McMullen announced the death and said the city’s homicide unit was on its way to the scene.
