Detectives Searching for Three Robbery Suspects

Tampa Police are searching for three men suspected in an armed robbery that happened about 30 minutes after midnight early Sunday, according to a news release.

Police gave the following account of the robbery:

Three University of Tampa Students were walking home from a party were headed south on foot on North Boulevard. As they approached Ross Avenue, two men jumped out from behind utility poles. One man pointed a gun at the victims and the other punched one of the victims. The culprits took the victims' wallets.

An hour later, one of the two men involved in the robbery and a third man used the victims' credit cards at a 7-Eleven at 2302 W. Waters Avenue. At one point, one of the men yelled at a store clerk from the entrance of the store about being overcharged for his purchase.

The suspects were described as follows:

Suspect 1: a black male, about 19 to 25 years old, 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with short hair, and wearing a diamond earring, a gray v-neck T-shirt and dark jeans.

Suspect 2: a black male, 5-feet-11-inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, wearing jeans, a mask and armed with a handgun.

Suspect 3: a white male, 5-feet-9-inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a plaid shirt, jeans and a black and white Sox hat.

A store surveillance video shows the suspects using the victim's credit card at the 7-Eleven. The first video shows two suspects at the counter using one of the victim's credit cards. When the clerk turns his back, they shake hands and hug.
