Detectives Searching for Restaurant Burglar

Tampa Police say the suspect took cash and soda cans from Jade Garden Restaurant and may be involved in other burglaries along Hillsborough Avenue.

Detectives are looking for a man who they say broke into a Chinese restaurant and may be involved in other burglaries along Hillsborough Avenue.

The suspect, who was seen on security camera footage, broke through the front glass door of Jade Garden Restaurant, 2626 W. Hillsborough Ave., around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20. He took money from the cash register and soda cans before fleeing, the Tampa Police Department reported.

The suspect is described as a white man between 30 and 40 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 and weighing 180 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a camouflage, long-sleeve shirt, tan pants, a baseball cap and black Rawlings gloves and carrying a black shoulder bag.
