Crime Blotter: Suspect Hits the Fridge; Another Leaves Blood

Police say a thief left behind some blood in a shed that was breached, while another suspect walked into a house, past the kids, and helped himself to food in the fridge.

Jan. 26

  • Tools, gaming systems and a flat screen TV were stolen from a residence on the 8900 block of North Highland Avene. Forensic investigators processed the scene with positive results, according to police.
  • A shed in the backyard of a house on the 2000 block of East Hamilton Avenue was broken into. Stolen were numerous tools, including an air compressor, table saw, router saw, jig saw, and line trimmer.

Jan. 27

  • A sliding glass door was shattered on a house on the 2100 block of West Juneau Street. A gold "Cameo" ring was stolen, along with GE digital camera. Fingerprints were lifted at the scene.
  • Police say a suspect left behind some blood after prying open a shed door in the backyard of a house on the 8400 block of North Brooks Street. Stolen was a Christmas house and breadmaker. Investigators took a sample of the blood.

  • Police have arrested and charged Edwards Evans, 31, of 1610 E Paris St., with burglary and petit theft. Evans allegedly entered a residence on the 1600 block of East Paris Street and took food from a refrigerator. The homeowner's grandchildren witnessed the event after telling Evans not to enter the house. Evans ignored them, and was arrested at his house shortly thereafter.

Jan. 30

  • A bedroom window was smashed open at a house on the 100 block of West Sligh Avenue. Two rings were stolen from inside and Nikon camera valued at $620. Police said the suspect(s) exited through the front door.
