Crime Blotter: Thief Finds Key on Front Porch; Car Burglarized at Chamberlain High

Stashing the house key on the front porch railing wasn't prevention enough at one home.

Mar. 1

  • Someone found a house key hidden on the front porch railing of a house in the 1300 block of East Norfolk Street and entered the residence. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a Sony Playstation 3 and four game cartridges, Panasonic Lumix digital camera, an Apple Powerbook, and an Apple Macbook.

Mar. 2

  • A car was breached through an open window at Chamberlain High School. Removed from the center console was a Florida driver's license and an uncashed check for $330. Police say the victim did not report the crime until two days later.

  • A car's rear left window was smashed open on the 2400 block of East Yukon Street. Stolen from inside was a Coach purse valued at $300, a Coach wristlet valued at $100. Police say the purse was left on the front passenger seat, and that fingerprints were recovered at the scene.
