Crime Blotter : Burglars Strike Homes and Business

Besides a few bad guys kicking their way in, it was a relatively quiet week in for Tampa Police District Two.

Feb. 23 

  • The front dining room window of a residence was smashed open on the 8400 block of North Armenia Avenue. Police say a watch and four cell phones were stolen, and that DNA evidence was recovered from the broken window. 
  • The rear door of a house on the 200 block of West Hiawatha Street was kicked open, and someone stole a Wii game system, several Wii games, a camcorder, a Sony Fine Pix camera, miscellaneous women's jewelry, and poured bleach over the victim's safe. Police say the stolen goods totaled more than $8,100. Partial fingerprints were recovered at the scene, investigators say. 

Feb. 25

  • Police someone kicked in the front door of Online Furniture at 7519 N Armenia Ave. and stole furniture and a television.
