Collectibles, Tires and Model Plane Stolen

Several recent auto and home burglaries were reported to Tampa Police.

Recent incident reports from Tampa Police District 2:

Oct. 27

  • Four tires and a DVD/CD/navigation system were reported stolen from an Acura at Batista Auto Lot, 8600 N. Florida Ave. The incident is similar to one reported Oct. 26 at Besco Auto, where tires were also taken from an Acura. A pattern appears to be developing in the area. The suspects were described as two Hispanic males, between 17 and 21 years of age. One had a red Cincinnati hat, gray hoodie and red basketball shorts. The other wore a camouflage hoodie, black shorts and had a slim build.
  • An auto burglary was reported at the 8100 block of North Nebraska Ave. The culprit shattered the driver's rear window and removed a backpack that contained several checks, which were later cashed.
  • An auto burglary was reported at the 8600 block of North 14th Street. The culprit entered through an unlocked door and took miscellaneous ID and a bank card. The victim's wallet was left on the front seat.
  • A residential burglary was reported at the 2100 block of West Hiawatha Avenue. The culprit removed nine window panes from the rear of the home. Reported missing were a gas-powered airplane with a 7-foot wingspan, a collectible Batman nightlight, a collectible 18-wheel die cast truck, two collectible die cast cars, and  a men's bracelet.
  • An auto burglary was reported at Lowry Park Zoo, 1101 W. Sligh Ave. The culprit removed a light blue iPod Nano.
  • An attempted residential burglary was reported at the 3400 block of East Diana Street. The culprit broke a rear window, setting off an alarm.

  • An auto theft was reported at the Tampa Auto Mart, 8502 N. Florida Ave. A green 1996 Dodge Caravan was taken. The culprit was seen driving the van up to the gate and removing the locked chain with either a key or by picking it and driving off the lot.
  • A residential burglary was reported at the 1900 block of East Paris Street. The culprit kicked in the rear door and took a 50-inch LG plasma flat screen television, a 20-inch Vizio flat screen television and a 17-inch Toshiba laptop computer. The home's alarm company reported the incident to the resident, who returned hom within the hour to discover the burglary.
