Update: Teen Victim Identified in Southeast Seminole Heights Shooting

Tampa Police are investigating the shooting, which took place Friday night in the area of 11th Street and East Ellicott Street and left a 16-year-old boy in serious condition.

Update: (May 5, 6:45 p.m.)

The teenager involved in the May 4  shooting at 11th Street and East Ellicott Street has been identified as Leroy Henry, according to a Tampa Police report. The teen's condition, first reported as critical, has been upgraded to serious/stable.

A teenage boy was shot Friday night in Southeast Seminole Heights, Tampa Police report.

The department is investigating the shooting, which occurred around 8:25 p.m. in the area of 11th Street and East Ellicott Street. The boy was shot "in the chest area" and was in serious condition late Friday night, according to police.

Homicide detectives were interviewing witnesses but had not yet established why the shooting took place.

Tampa Police told Bay News 9 the victim was walking with a group of five other teens when a male suspect between the ages of 15 and 20 walked up and shot the victim.
