Bad Weather Doesn't Put Off Criminals

Here is a look at some of the recent activity in Seminole Heights from the Tampa Police Department's crime blotter.

Wednesday, June 20

  • For the second time this year, a residence in the 900 block of East Diana Street was the target of an attempted break in. Suspects attempted to kick in the door and pry the door lock but were unsuccessful and fled undetected.

Saturday, June 23

  • Thieves smashed the rear window of a car in the 4300 block of North Lynn Avenue, taking an Apple MacBook computer from inside. Suspects fled the scene undetected, and police were unable to process the scene due to weather conditions. The victim and police were given a lead a short while later when an identical computer was posted on Craigslist. Follow-up investigations were conducted.
  • A thief cut the convertible top of a jeep to steal a red power converter. The vehicle could not be processed due to bad weather.
