Auto, Home Burglaries Reported in Central Tampa

Lock your car doors and don't leave valuables in plain sight.

Recent incident reports from Tampa Police Districts 2 and 3:

Oct. 20

  • A residential burglary was reported at the 500 block of East Fern Street. The culprit pried off a screen from the rear door window and reached in to unlock the door. Reported missing were two laptop computers (MSI and Toshiba), a Sony PlayStation, an Olympus camera and loose change.

  • A Compaq computer and a Cool Whip container with $70 was reported stolen from the bedroom of a home at the 6400 block of North Central Avenue.

Oct. 22

  • An auto burglary was reported at the 8100 block of North Nebraska Avenue. Someone shattered the driver's side window of a Chevy Venture and rummaged through the interior. Nothing was taken.
  • An auto burglary was reported at the 1200 block of Park Circle East. The convertible top of a Nissan 350Z was cut.

  • A residential burglary was reported at the 1800 block of East Louisiana Avenue. Someone broke a hole through the east side bedroom window and unlocked it. Initially, it appeared that nothing was taken. The victim later told police his methadone was missing.
  • An auto burglary was reported at the 1700 block of Southeast Lambright Street. The culprit entered a silver Hyundai Santa Fe through an unlocked driver's side door. A Garmin GPS unit was reported taken.
  • A residential burglary was reported at the 5600 block of North Miami Street. Someone entered the detached garage and took two bicycles — a men's and a women's beach cruiser bike.
