Do You Think Obama is ‘Out of Touch?’

Mitt Romney said so during a campaign stop in Orlando and we want to hear what you think on the topic.

Name calling is commonplace during election season – especially presidential election season.

Even so, saying a sitting president can’t identify with the populace might be seen as hitting below the belt by some. But that’s essentially what presidential hopeful Mitt Romney did Tuesday during a campaign stop in Orlando.

"The president doesn't understand how his policies have made things so hard for the American people,” the Tampa Bay Times quoted Romney as saying. “It's finally time to have a president who is in touch with what's happening in America."

We’ve posted this story on various local Patch sites in Tampa Bay to get the entire region's take on this. That way, you can see what your neighbors think, as well as some of the different opinions that make each part of Tampa Bay so unique.

What do you think about President Obama’s abilities to connect with the people? How about Romney’s? Let us know in the comments section. Be sure to say what town you’re from, too, so we can follow up with your thoughts on your home Patch site!

The fact that the top 20% of US earners pay about 70% of all taxes has become very widely publicized and repeated lately. A less reported fact covered in one article by CBS back in 2011 is that the top 20% control about 84% of the total wealth in this country. Newsflash: the government still taxes people based on their income. People in the Ultra-Rich class like Romney (Not the 1% 'ers, but the .001% 'ers end up paying an effective tax rate around 13%. If I was part of the 50% of people who just happened to make more than $200,000 in 2008 and who, according to the tax policy center, paid between 20% - 35%, I'd be pretty upset about that. Many working people in that category make less than a million, and in my experience it's those (who can't afford the most expensive accountants and tax lawyers) who usually end up paying the highest in taxes. Those are generally small business owners or senior employees who work lots of overtime. I have sympathy for these people, who deserve to keep as much of the money they work for as possible. Maybe some day when the Romneys of the country, who have more money than they know what to do with anyway, are taxed their fair share these people won't have to shoulder so much of the tax burden. Unfortunately, where the bottom 40% are concerned, despite the rich's best efforts you can't get blood from a stone. So until someone makes the ultra rich pay up, you're it!

Term limits is a great example of an attempt to eleviate one problem, could easily create a much greater problem. Do you remember the rights biggest talking point against Obama? His lack of experience! Can you imagine the corruption if a politition knew he could not run again?

Experience isn't only made through being a Congress or Senate member. So the lack of experience agruement is a bad one. As well as the corruption of a lame duck member of Congress or Senator. Do you believe that a person is going to be more corupt knowing they are lame duck than a member that knows they have the job for life. Most Congressman are elected on name recongition alone. They sit in office for decades. If there is more turn over the regular public would be forced to pay more attention to the position. I also believe Congression corruption should be a Judgical review not a Congressional review. How are they honestly going to punish someone of corruption when usual the judging body has their hand in the same cookie jar.

Allow us all be Truthful about these two candidates, neither can Really fix the problem. It Requires more than a president to clean up the mess that has been made of our Federal government. Appear at the lack of Phrase limits in the Congress and Senate. Do you turly believe an Congressman who has been in office the last 30 years can Really make accurate Choices for the state of Culture in our Country.Do you believe that they are doing a Support to this country, or just Creating Certain they have taken care of By themselves and their Job as a politican? BTW, recently I found an very special place, http://www.marrymillionaire.com/, yeah, nowadays many dating sites around the world, I just happen to meet it, infact nothing special, I am not so like it very much
